Rocket Spanish doesn't quite qualify as a Spanish language software package, mostly because there is very little software. The most part of the program is consisted of an audio course and several e-books that are similar to textbooks.
Despite of this, the part of the Rocket Spanish package that is actually software is the two word recognition activities included in the game. These are designed specifically to improve vocabulary and listening comprehension, and they do a pretty good job.
Though audio courses can be effective for many people, it doesn't offer the benefits of interactive learning and the immediate feedback it provides. As you saw in our comparison table, Rocket Spanish doesn’t have a speech recognition system or a personal progress tracking, which is why this program is in the last place in our review.
The bottom line, Rocket Spanish is a great audio course which does what it's supposed to do, and is really easy to use. While the Pocket pc/MP3 compatibility comes in handy for most users, the lack of some features might not please others.
